Bad Review Of Video Post Robot

I road tested Video Post Robot and the results were not good.

So, I’m looking at video marketing because some people have been telling me that it delivers more “bang per buck” than articles. And you know how writing endless articles on the same niche can get mindnumbingly boring!!

Anyway, more on my video methods later but one of the things I needed was some kind of automatic video syndication.

I searched on the forums and it looked like the free options weren’t good enough, it seemed. The paid options were three:

So it turns out that both of the last two have a $1 trial. I decided to go with VPR because I heard good things about it.

The Software Functionality

I gotta say, I like the software. It’s well made and has some good features. If you are operating in many different niches and have different video identities then these can all be saved under a custom username profile. This is something you don’t get with free options like Tube Mogul. There is even a category profile that you can create e.g. one for your educational videos, one for your action videos etc.

Uploading Success

This is where the software let me down and I decided to cancel.

Software could not upload to:
Veoh
Crackle
Sevenload
Atomfilms
Flurl (got stuck at 93%)

Uploaded but video site either rejected my video or was not processed:
Metacafe
Livevideo
Revver
Spike
Vimeo

Verdict

Now I should add here that I did retry the uploads. In fact, there were one or two that did not orginally work that a second try fixed. But the lists above are the final result.

I was a little disappointed that some big sites like Metacafe and Revver did not accept my videos. And yet it had nothing to do with the content, tags or anything else being used to reject me on a “spam” or marketing basis.

I say this because I had no trouble later making the uploads manually or with TubeMogul.

So when I have time, I’ll probably check out Traffic Geyser but be sure to check out TubeMogul. I think I didn’t give it enough of a chance before - it contains some high traffic sites and the analytics can’t be beaten! Add to this that it has awesome uploading checking - you upload to the server and it reuploads to other sites, you can check the status at anytime. Much more reliable than multi-uploads from your PC in my opinion.

Have you tried any other video upload sites yourself or got any recommendations? Would love to hear from you.

Hi Chris, I enjoyed your post. I think sites like Metacafe rely on their community to approve content, and I don’t believe they allow marketing videos on their site, just informational and entertainment based ones mainly.

I’m founder of http://www.UnleashVideo.com, we are trying to be the pickiest video upload site on the web, where we must first approve you as a creator, and then approve each one of your videos you want to feature on our site.

We are growing slowly, as we are only focused on quality entertainment, and don’t want to become yet another YouTube clone.
