Capitalising On One-Off And Seasonal Events

A lot of people shy away from one off and seasonal events because they usually mean a sporadic, unstable income that may not last forever. Good examples of seasonal events are Halloween and Valentines Day. A Good example of a one-off event is the Beijing Olympics.

Yes, there are drawbacks, but the advantage is that you can experience an explosion of traffic in the run up to and during the actual event itself. This explosion of traffic will also lead to a huge spike in earnings too which will make it worth the effort.

Ideally, you need to prepare months in advance for such events. This is because your best converting traffic will come from the search engines and sometimes to get properly listed in the search engines and receive regular daily hits then you need to start working 6 month prior or even earlier.

You need to make sure that you are going to make a lot of money from such a site so do not bother if you have nothing to sell. This is especially the case because for one-off sites in particular, their value will plummet soon after the event so you will not be able to sell it for much money.

Personally, I stay away from one-off sites at the moment but, investment funds permitting, such a site might make for a good project to outsource in the future.
